Grand Teton
We were blessed with great weather! But I really wish I had brought good gloves and I was really happy for a good coat, it was cold up there in the wind, especially since a morning climb means you're in the shade the whole time (Owen-Spalding route)

Rexburg Area Ice Caves

8/8/17 6:08 pmReally cool caves! Pretty cold and slick in there, and nice ice crystals on top and bottom! The dirt road you turn on to was pretty bad though, I'd definitely want some good tires and pretty good clearance. Also, I wish I'd known before hand that it's almost three miles on hat crazy rocky road! We almost turned back at 2 miles, but the caves made it worth it!

Palisades Creek Trail / Lakes and Waterfall Canyon
Gorgeous area! The lake was kinda muddy though and big parts of the trail were flowing with excess snowmelt. I bet it's fantastic later in the season!

5/26/17 5:48 pmA fun hike! I've done it a few times and it always takes longer than expected, but is always worth it!

Rock Canyon Park

2/18/17 8:47 amGreat place to sled! Really big, really convenient, and really popular. Watch out for lumps and bumps, definitely the best time to go is after a fresh snow so the snow isn't as packed down.

Conant Creek Pegram Truss Railroad Bridge
An old favorite! Especially in the springtime, the view is fantastic. Used to be pretty scary with missing boards and the big drop, but now there's a safety fence and a tight walkway, so it's even great for kids!

8/4/16 5:40 pmTable Rock is an amazing hike! I've done it twice, and am about to do it again. I'd recommend it to anyone with strong legs and a thirst for beauty or adventure!

Phil Baux Park
A good fun park! You'll see experienced climbers out there all the time, trying new techniques on the boulder project, which can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be! There are also poles set up for you to set up a slackline if you have one.

Middle Teton
Awesome mountain!! It'll wear you out though, it took us almost eleven hours I think from start to finish. So worth it! There's a few miles of boulder field and that's kinda miserable, but when you get to the saddle and can look out over the valley it's breathtaking! There's water for a lot of the way if you have a water filter, and be careful of altitude sickness, almost half the hike is above the treeline. Lastly, the view of the Grand from the top of the middle is like none other, it's really amazing!

Cave Falls of Yellowstone
What a beautiful waterfall!! It's a shame the cave caved in, it used to be fun to go play in there. However, it's still an excellent place to flyfish, skip stones, and enjoy the beautiful view in a place that isn't super popular. There's a trail there that leads to two or three more amazing waterfalls in just a couple miles. Watch out for mosquitoes!

Twin Bridges
As far as bridge jumping goes, I think this is the best it gets! It's reasonably safe (just don't jump on the rocks on the side), reasonably high (but you have a low and a high option!) Good parking, and there isn't even traffic on the bridge you have to watch out for. I'd watch out for hot sunny days and holidays, it can get pretty crowded

North Menan Butte ('R' Mountain)
A great hike by Rexburg! Not too hard, with lots of cool volcanic formations to look at and informational signs about the local flora and fauna. The view from the R is fantastic!

Stinking Springs
Not a great hike... Fairly easy and fun if you're in good company, but dusty and exposed. We didn't even find any springs! We did find a rattlesnake though, that was exciting!

Ashton to Tetonia Trail
Running or bicycling on this trail is pretty, flat, and a great way to see the countryside off the beaten path

Egin Lakes
This place is awesome! Warm, shallow water and fun sand to play in. Don't expect any real swimming (it only gets to like 2 feet deep), but it's fun to play contact sports or paddle around on kayaks/inner tubes. I'd wear sandals though, sometimes there are prickly things lurking under the water

Pine Butte / The Caldera
This is a really interesting place! Sagebrush and a barren landscape outside, and then a short hike down and it's all wildflowers and bright green aspens! Super family-friendly, with cool lava rocks to explore, and a lot of wildlife!

Rexburg Nature Park
Huge and gorgeous, this park has everything! Skate park, wildlife, a pavilion, paved and unpaved trails, a playground, and of course, hockey and frisbee golf.

Warm River Campground
I went as a scout with my troop. A super nice, quiet place in the spring. We also really considered it for my sister's wedding reception!
