This park is the product of 15 months of fund raising and community organization that began in September 1996 with a Juneau/Douglas High School Phoenix Program project and is culminating with the construction of a 7500 square foot facility for skateboarding and in-line skating. Fund raising and organizing is ongoing through the Skate Board an advisory board to the Parks and Recreation Department. The park is outside, but is covered. Theres a half pipe and a street course. Pads and helmets are recommended. Opening hours are 9am to 10pm every day. The City Parks Department has a Web site that includes information about the park: www.juneau.liCourtesy of skatepark.com
