Hot Springs

Garland There used to be a resort here which used to feed their pools with the water from the hot spring. Now the resort is closed and the pool here is far to hot to soak in. Most of the time, you can see the bubbles surfacing. Hopefully that's enough of a clue to stay out. However, the hot water flows into a creek and then the river. It doesn't get really deep there but enough that you should be able to find a good spot to sit and enjoy some warmer than usual creek/river water.

Be careful. Pay attention to posted signs and always test the waters before you get in. Some hot springs can get up to boiling temperatures. Be sure to drink plenty of water to combat the dehydrating effect of the spring.
Be respectful of other soakers and the hot spring. Don't hog the pool. Camp at least 200 yards away and keep fires in designated areas. Keep your pets out of the water and never pee in thermal feature. Glass bottles should never go near a hot spring.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Graland in 1958. It must have been a good start because we have been married 62+ years and raised six children. We live in southwest Washington now. This summer we bought a car like the one we had when we had our honeymoon. The top picture is my wife at 18 and the bottom picture is my wife at 80. God is good.

It WAS a resort. It's long since been closed and abandoned but the property is now privately owned.

This is our family property. We have been the owners since the 1950’s. We were devastated by flood and fire and lost our Lodge in the 1960’s and over the years anytime we would leave vandals would steal what they could. Now we state no trespassing for privacy and liability.
