Forget how close you are to the hustle and bustle of the city of Portland by taking a bike ride on this gorgeous nature trail. It's one of the more popular and well-known trails in Forest Park. It's a very smooth, non-technical trail shared by runners and walkers. There aren't any major climbs or descents on this wide trail. Some of the areas can get quite muddy in the rainy months.
This trail goes through a forest of maple, alder, and evergreen trees. The sound of a multitude of birds chirping will likely drown out most of the noise you may hear from traffic or construction across the river. This is the perfect trail if you're looking for a bit of quiet in the city.
More Information
Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
