Double Butte Loop Trail is one of the trails within Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Double Butte Loop Trail is a natural trail that traverses the circumference of both the small butte near the parking lot and the larger double buttes.Courtesy of phoenix.gov

This loop trail is 2.3 miles long, and is relatively flat, making it a great hike or bike ride for beginners. The trail begins at the West Park parking lot, where there is a plethera of parking, as well as a ramada picnic area. You can start the loop in either direction, as there is no significant difference with the small elevation gain. The trail offers views of the local desert vegetation such as Sonoran Desert cholla and saguaro cactus.

Papago Park takes pride in keeping their trails clean and well-maintained making it an enjoyable experience for all who come through. This is a dog friendly trail.

Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
