Hike and Snowshoe
Brushy Creek is a day use hiking, picnic and swimming area in the Ouachita National Forest. This is the perfect place for visitors hoping for a peaceful day reconnecting with nature. There are several easy hiking trails available near here, including Brushy Creek Trail. Brushy Creek trail is a three quarter mile loop hike that will take most hikers around a half hour to complete. The trail overlooks Brushy Creek and Cossatot River, creating scenic views throughout the hike.
Brushy Creek Area has picnic tables and restrooms open during the day for public use. These amenities are close to the swim area on Brushy Creek, making this a perfect visiting place for families with children. Swimming is allowed on the creek, but no lifeguard is on duty so swimming is available at your own risk. There is a parking lot available for easy access to the day use recreation area.
