The Bonneville Salt Flats is a great place for beach-goers to enjoy. While it\'s not technically a beach, the salt flats provide a similar setting for swimming, suntanning, and camping.
The water feels like a long walk from the parking lot and the packed sand can get crusty and hard, so make sure to wear shoes that can get dirty. Many people love to visit the flats because it\'s a peaceful, quiet place to lie in the sun and collect your thoughts or have a photo shoot.
The water is especially warm, perfect for swimming or just dipping your toes in. It\'s rarely ever crowded, meaning you will typically only be sharing the place with a couple other people, and it\'s a great place to bring your pets and let them get some exercise. Views of the mountains can be seen from the sand.
The flats can be seen along I-80, and there is a gift shop right by the parking lot off the freeway exit where visitors can come and purchase souvenirs for friends and family.

The parking lot is located right off the freeway exit.
