18 miles and roughly 4,000 vertical feet of climbing up to the top of Blacktail Mountain via a dirt/gravel road... this is one epic ride up, and one epic ride downtown! Take it from me: if it is just starting to warm in the valley, it will still be freezing b*** cold at the summit 4,000 feet higher. and the little dampness of the climb will turn into a freezing mud spray on the way down. do this in the summer!! And yes, it is a serious stinking climb! Courtesy of Singletracks.com

Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
