Hike

The Baring Falls are named after the Baring Creek, which flows into the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. The falls themselves are a stunning sight to behold, with a 30-foot drop into a pool of crystal clear water. The best time to visit Baring Falls is in the summer months, when the water flow is at its highest. However, the falls are beautiful at any time of year, and the surrounding area is a great place to spot wildlife such as bears, elk, and mountain goats.

The Baring Falls Trail is a moderate hike that begins at the Baring Creek Trailhead. The trail winds through a dense forest of pine and fir trees, providing plenty of shade on hot summer days. Along the way, hikers will encounter several scenic overlooks with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Once you reach the falls, you can take a break and enjoy a picnic lunch on the rocky beach, or cool off in the refreshing water. Be sure to bring your camera, as the falls make for a stunning photograph.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can continue on the Baring Falls Trail to the Baring Creek Gorge Overlook, which offers a stunning view of the gorge and the falls from above. The overlook is a 1.5 mile roundtrip hike from the falls, and is well worth the extra effort for the panoramic views.

Overall, Baring Falls is a must-see attraction in Glacier National Park. The falls and the surrounding area offer something for everyone, from easy hiking and picnicking to more strenuous hikes with breathtaking views. So why wait? Plan your trip to Baring Falls today and experience the beauty of Glacier National Park for yourself!

Be courteous, informed, and prepared. Read trailhead guidelines, stay on the trail, and don't feed the wildlife.
